Frequently Asked Questions

Questions, answered straight.

Neuron HQ is an AI-native software studio. We build custom AI apps — a working first version in about two weeks, fixed price, every line reviewed by a senior engineer, and you own 100% of the code — and we teach people to build with AI through Neuron Academy. Below are 28 plain answers. No accordions, no click-to-expand — every answer is readable right here.

About Neuron HQ

The studio, in plain terms.

What is Neuron HQ?
Neuron HQ is an AI-native software studio. We do two things: we build custom AI apps for clients — designed, built, and shipped with every line reviewed by a senior engineer — and we teach people to build with AI through Neuron Academy. Our internal build engine is called Neuron, so client apps are “powered by Neuron.” One studio, one engine, real shipped products.
What does “powered by Neuron” mean?
Neuron is our internal engine and method for building software with AI fast, then hardening it with senior human review. It is not a separate product you buy or a no-code tool you operate. When we say an app is “powered by Neuron,” we mean we built it using that engine and process — AI speed on the build, a senior engineer reviewing every change before it ships.
What has Neuron HQ actually shipped?
Four real products. Neuron Academy, our AI learning platform with 149 lessons across 12 tracks. Spa Owner HQ, an operating system for spa and med-spa owners. Top Builder AI, an AI operations and CFO layer for construction companies. And JobScout, an AI job-search copilot. We show these as honest case studies — what was built and the real capability, never invented metrics or reviews.
Is Neuron HQ a real studio or a solo operator?
Neuron HQ is an AI-native software studio that designs, builds, and ships custom AI apps and runs Neuron Academy. We pair AI build speed with senior-engineer review on every change. We don't publish a fabricated headcount or stock-photo team. The honest proof is the work: four shipped products and a process where a human reviews every line before it goes live.
How do I get in touch?
Email support@neuron-hq.com, or use the “Start a build” button at the top of any page to tell us what you want built. The fastest path is a short description of the problem you're trying to solve and who would use the app. We'll reply with scope, a fixed price, and a timeline — typically a working first version in about two weeks.
Built with Neuron

The build service, no fine print.

Process, ownership, security, timeline, pricing, and the “is this vibe coding?” question — answered. Full offer at /built-with-neuron.

What is “Built with Neuron”?
Built with Neuron is our done-for-you custom app service. You describe the app; we design it, build the full stack — auth, database, deploy — review every line with a senior engineer, and hand you a working first version in about two weeks. Fixed price, no surprise change-orders, and you own 100% of the code and the repository. See the full offer at /built-with-neuron.
How does the build process work?
Three steps, plainly: you describe it, we build and review it, you own it live. We scope and architect, AI builds fast while a senior engineer reviews every change, we test and security-review, then deploy and hand over the code, repo, and docs. From there you can take it in-house or keep us on Care to evolve it. The full walkthrough lives at /how-we-work.
How long does a build take?
A working first version — a real MVP your customers can use — typically ships in about two weeks on our Launch tier. Larger, multi-feature apps and integrations go on the Scale tier with a timeline scoped per project. The two-week target is the first shippable version, not a half-finished demo: it includes design, full-stack build, auth, database, and deployment.
Who owns the code?
You do — 100% of it. Every Built with Neuron engagement includes full handover of the source code and the repository, plus documentation. There is no platform lock-in, no per-seat license on your own software, and no “we host it so we keep it” arrangement. You can host it yourself, bring in another team, or keep us on the Care plan. The code is yours either way.
What does it cost?
Three plain-text tiers (proposed — confirm current pricing with us). Launch: fixed, from $6,500 — a working first version in about two weeks, including design, full-stack build, auth, database, deploy, full code and repo handover, and 30 days of support. Scale: fixed, from $15,000 — a larger multi-feature app or integrations, timeline scoped per project. Care: $1,000/month — ongoing changes, monitoring, and fixes; pause or cancel anytime.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes. Pricing is fixed up front with no surprise change-orders, and if we don't ship a working first version, you don't pay the final milestone. You also own 100% of the code regardless of what happens next, so you're never trapped. The risk we're removing is the usual one with custom software: paying in full and getting something that doesn't actually run.
Is this “vibe coding”?
We use AI speed but we ship like engineers. “Vibe coding” — a term Andrej Karpathy coined in February 2025 and Collins Dictionary's Word of the Year for 2025 — means accepting AI-generated code without fully reviewing it. We don't do that. AI drafts fast; a senior engineer reviews every line before it ships. Think of it as AI speed, human-shipped — the opposite of unreviewed vibe coding.
Is AI-generated code secure?
Not by default — which is exactly why we review every line. Veracode's 2025 GenAI Code Security Report found that 45% of AI-generated code contained security flaws. Raw AI output is a fast first draft, not a shippable product. Every Built with Neuron app gets a senior-engineer review and a security pass before launch, so you get AI speed without inheriting AI's security debt.
Do you really review every line of code?
Yes — it's the core of how we work. AI writes fast, but a senior engineer reviews every change before it ships, and the app gets a dedicated security review. This is our direct answer to the Veracode finding that 45% of AI-generated code contains security flaws. The speed comes from AI; the safety comes from a human being accountable for what goes live.
What happens after launch — do you maintain it?
Your choice. Every build ends with full code, repo, and docs handover, so you can maintain it yourself or hand it to any team. If you'd rather not, our Care plan is $1,000/month for ongoing changes, monitoring, fixes, and small features — and you can pause or cancel anytime while keeping the code. There's no requirement to stay on a subscription to use your own app.
What exactly do I get at handover?
A deployed, working app plus everything behind it: the full source code, the Git repository, and documentation. On Launch that also includes the design, a full-stack build with auth and a database, deployment, and 30 days of support. You don't get a locked black box or a no-code project you can't export — you get the actual software, owned outright and ready to run or extend.
How is this different from a dev agency or a Fiverr gig?
A typical agency is slower and bills hourly with change-orders; an offshore gig is cheap but rarely senior-reviewed or security-checked, and ownership can be murky. Built with Neuron is fixed price, ships a first version in about two weeks, every line is senior-reviewed, and you own 100% of the code. We give competitors their honest wins on our /compare page — read it side by side.
How is this different from DIY tools like Lovable, Replit, or Bolt?
Those tools put you in the builder's seat with per-prompt costs that can spike (one widely shared Replit case ran roughly $350 in a day) and no senior review of what ships — exactly the gap behind Veracode's 45%-of-AI-code-is-flawed finding. With Built with Neuron it's done for you at a fixed price, security-reviewed, and you still own the code. See /compare for the full breakdown.
What kinds of apps can you build?
If you can describe it, we can usually build it: internal tools, customer portals, AI assistants and copilots, dashboards, booking and operations systems, marketplaces, content engines, and data pipelines. Our own portfolio spans a learning app, a spa operating system, a construction CFO layer, and a job-search copilot. Browse common starting points on /use-cases, then tell us your version.

What is Neuron Academy?
Neuron Academy is our AI learning platform — the “teach” half of Neuron HQ. It has 149 lessons across 12 tracks, a real Claude AI tutor, ElevenLabs voice narration, spaced repetition for retention, and cryptographically signed certificates you can verify publicly. There's a free tier to start, and Pro is $19/month for the full system. Open it at /academy.
Is Neuron Academy free?
Yes — there's a free tier that lets you start learning with no credit card. Pro is $19/month and unlocks the full system: all core lessons, the advanced tracks, and unlimited use of the Claude tutor and ElevenLabs narration. Certificates you earn are cryptographically signed and stay valid forever, independent of your subscription. Full details and sign-up are at /academy.
What is Spa Owner HQ?
Spa Owner HQ is the operating system for spa and med-spa owners — it pulls booking, day-to-day operations, and marketing automation into one place so owners stop duct-taping separate tools together. It's one of the four products we've shipped, built and reviewed with the Neuron engine. You can read more on /products#spa-owner-hq; the public site link is being finalized.
What is Top Builder AI?
Top Builder AI is an AI operations and CFO layer for construction companies. It connects to the tools builders already use — QuickBooks and Procore — and turns the data into AI briefings, so owners get a clear read on the numbers without living in spreadsheets. It's one of our four shipped products. More on /products#top-builder-ai; the public site link is being finalized.
What is JobScout?
JobScout is an AI job-search copilot. It helps you tailor your resume to a specific role, draft cover letters, and get compensation intel so you negotiate from a stronger position. It's one of the four products in the Neuron HQ portfolio, built and senior-reviewed with our engine. Read more on /products#jobscout; the public site link is being finalized.
Can you build a product like yours for my business?
Yes — that's exactly what Built with Neuron is for. Our four products show the range of what the engine can ship, from a learning app to a construction CFO layer. If you have a similar idea for your industry, describe it and we'll scope a fixed-price build with a working first version in about two weeks, all of which you'll own. Start at /built-with-neuron.
Getting started

Ready when you are.

How do I start a build?
Click “Start a build” on any page, or email support@neuron-hq.com with a short description of the app you want and who will use it. We'll come back with scope, a fixed price, and a timeline — usually a working first version in about two weeks. You don't need specs or wireframes to begin; a clear description of the problem is enough to scope it.
Do I need a technical background or a finished spec?
No. You describe the outcome you want and who it's for; we handle the architecture, the build, and the engineering decisions. There's no requirement to write specs, choose a tech stack, or know how to code. If you can explain the problem and what success looks like, we can scope it into a fixed-price build and ship a first version in about two weeks.
What if I only want advice or to learn it myself?
Then start with Neuron Academy at /academy — 149 lessons across 12 tracks with a real Claude tutor, built to make AI skills actually stick. It's the same studio behind the custom builds, so you're learning from people who ship. There's a free tier to begin, and Pro is $19/month. When you'd rather have it built for you, Built with Neuron is one click away.
Still have a question? Email support@neuron-hq.com and we'll answer it straight — usually with scope, a fixed price, and a timeline if it's a build. Or just start a build and tell us what you want to make.
